ppeRipPreference

Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::ppeRipPreference

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.3.3.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The value to assign to ipRouteMetric2, when adding a RIP-learned entry to the IP Routing Table.

What is ppeRipPreference?

This read-write INTEGER sets the value assigned to ipRouteMetric2 when a RIP-learned entry is added to the IP Routing Table, ranking RIP routes against static, OSPF, and EGP sources. An administrator adjusts it as the network migrates between routing protocols. For example, the admin raises ppeRipPreference to a less favorable value after migrating the network to OSPF, so lingering RIP routes no longer override the new OSPF paths.
