What is hwAddr5?
This read-only OCTET STRING reports the hardware address of the module installed in hardware slot 5, one of a series of per-slot identifiers (hwAddr5 through hwAddr8) the ES/1 exposes for its plug-in modules. An administrator uses it to confirm exactly which physical module currently occupies slot 5 without opening the chassis. For example, after replacing a suspect card in slot 5, the technician polls hwAddr5 and confirms it now returns the replacement card's address instead of the old one.
