ctAgentDhcpSnoopingIfRateLimit

Module: CT-FASTPATH-DHCPSNOOPING-MIB

OID (symbolic): CT-FASTPATH-DHCPSNOOPING-MIB::ctAgentDhcpSnoopingIfRateLimit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.35.1.1.4.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates rate limit value for DHCP Snooping purpose. If the incoming rate of DHCP packets exceeds the value of this object for consecutively burst interval seconds, DHCP packets will be dropped.

What is ctAgentDhcpSnoopingIfRateLimit?

This read-write Unsigned32, in packets per second from 0 to 300, sets the DHCP packet rate limit on an interface, beyond which packets are dropped for consecutive burst-interval seconds. An administrator uses this to prevent a DHCP flood, whether malicious or accidental, from overwhelming the snooping process or the DHCP server. For example, an admin might set ctAgentDhcpSnoopingIfRateLimit to 10 on user access ports to blunt a potential DHCP starvation attack from a compromised endpoint.
