Module: CPIWF-MIB
OID (symbolic): CPIWF-MIB::cpIwfV5PSTNProtocolVariant
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.353.5.10.1.1.1.19
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: When the applicationIdentifier indicates the use of PSTN signalling for POTS the value of this object shall be set to the national PSTN protocol variant to be used, else this object is not applicable. The value of this object shall be the 2-digit country code, as defined in the E.164 numbering plan, followed by an optional carrier code. An SNMP Set operation to a value which is not supported shall result in an SNMP Response with error status of badValue(3).
What is cpIwfV5PSTNProtocolVariant?
This read-write Integer32, applicable only when PSTN signalling is used for POTS, encodes the national PSTN protocol variant as the E.164 country code optionally followed by a carrier code, with an unsupported value causing the SNMP Set to fail. It lets an admin configure the CP-IWF to speak the correct national signalling dialect for the telephone network it connects to. An admin deploying this device in a specific country would set this to that country's E.164 code so the CP-IWF interoperates correctly with the local PSTN signalling.
