Description: This specifies whether fax demodulation is enabled or disabled. An SNMP Set to enable(2) when fax demodulation is not supported must result in an SNMP response with error status of badValue(3).
What is aal2SscsFaxDemodulationTransport?
This read-write enumerated value enables(2) or disables(1) fax demodulation transport at the SSCS layer, with an attempt to enable it on hardware that does not support fax demodulation returning a badValue error. It lets an admin decide whether fax machines connected to this CP-IWF get their signals demodulated and carried as data rather than as raw audio. Setting this to enabled(2) on a port used for a fax machine improves fax transmission reliability compared to sending the fax tones as ordinary voice audio.
