aal2SscsDtmfDigitPacketTransport
Module: CPIWF-MIB
OID (symbolic): CPIWF-MIB::aal2SscsDtmfDigitPacketTransport
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.353.5.10.1.1.2.9
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This attribute describes whether DTMF digit packet transport is enabled or disabled. If the parameter value specifies 'enabled', then type 3 dialled digit packets are only passed if the encoding scheme being used cannot transparently pass DTMF tones. If the parameter value specifies 'disabled', then a higher rate encoding scheme should be used to transparently pass DTMF tones.
What is aal2SscsDtmfDigitPacketTransport?
This read-write enumerated value enables(2) or disables(1) DTMF digit packet transport, where enabling it means dialled-digit packets are only used when the voice encoding scheme cannot transparently pass DTMF tones, and disabling it means a higher-rate encoding should be used instead to pass tones transparently. It matters to an admin troubleshooting touch-tone menu systems that seem unresponsive over a compressed voice link. Setting this to enabled(2) on a low-bitrate encoded line ensures touch-tone digits reach an IVR system correctly even though the codec itself cannot pass DTMF tones cleanly.
