What is wan10gSdhAlsDegradeMode?
This OID is an enable/disable switch, defaulting to disabled, controlling whether a bit-error-rate signal-degrade (BER-SD) defect on the ODU can trigger Automatic Laser Shutdown for this WAN 10G SDH interface. Enabling this lets a slowly degrading signal quality, not just a hard loss of signal, be treated as a trigger for shutting off the laser, extending the ALS safety mechanism to cover marginal, error-prone links. For example, if this interface's underlying ODU starts reporting a signal-degrade condition from rising bit errors and this option is enabled, the laser shuts down even though the signal has not fully failed.
