This reports the optical power received on the subport's associated signal. It lets an admin monitor received signal strength at the granularity of an individual logical channel rather than only the parent physical port. For example, a subport reporting low receive power while its parent port's aggregate power looks fine would point the admin to a problem specific to that one customer's wavelength or channel.
