This CoriantTypesEnableSwitch (default disabled) controls whether an STM-64 (10 Gb/s SDH) client port automatically inserts an AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) downstream when a TIM (Trail Trace Identifier Mismatch) defect is declared. An administrator enables this so a detected trace mismatch is propagated as a clear, recognizable alarm condition to downstream equipment instead of silently passing through mismatched trace data. For example, enabling this on STM-64 means that once the receive trace stops matching what was expected, downstream nodes see AIS and raise their own alarms rather than continuing to process a signal from an unverified source.
