This is the SNMP community string included in trap notifications sent to a target when snmpTargetSnmpVersion is v2c, defaulting to the vendor string groove. Because the receiving NMS validates incoming v2c traps against an expected community string, leaving this at its vendor default is a security risk and can also cause traps to be silently dropped if the NMS expects a different string. For example, an admin should change snmpTargetTrapCommunityString away from the factory default groove to match the unique community string their NMS is configured to accept.
