This field specifies the link type associated with a PPP interface, with gcc0 (a general communication channel type used for optical-layer management signaling) as the defined value. Seeing pppType reported as gcc0 tells the admin this PPP link is part of the optical management overhead channel rather than a customer-facing data link.
