This CoriantTypesTimMode value (default NONE) selects how an OTUC3 (300 Gb/s-class flexible OTU) trunk port evaluates the Trail Trace Identifier Mismatch (TIM) defect, for example comparing only the SAPI, only the DAPI, or the full trace string against the expected values. An administrator changes this to control how strictly the node polices trail trace mismatches, trading sensitivity to real misconnections against tolerance of partially-provisioned trace strings from older far-end equipment. For instance, restricting OTUC3 to a SAPI-only comparison means it raises a TIM defect only when the received SAPI disagrees with the expected SAPI, ignoring differences elsewhere in the trace.
