What is otu4AlsDegradeMode?
This read-only CoriantTypesEnableSwitch value reports whether a BERSD-ODU (signal-degrade) defect is allowed to trigger ALS on this OTU4 (about 111.8 Gbit/s) line-side OTN facility, defaulting to disabled. Enabling it extends automatic laser shutdown to cover a badly degraded signal, not just a total loss, which matters for sites where a slowly failing amplifier could otherwise leave a laser running into a barely-usable link. For example, with this enabled on the OTU4 facility on slot 3, a sustained high bit-error condition alone (with no full loss of signal) would be enough to trigger the laser shutdown.
