This CoriantTypesEnableSwitch (default disabled) controls whether an OTU2e (enhanced OTU2, roughly 11.1 Gb/s) trunk carrying an oversized client signal such as 10GbE LAN automatically inserts an AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) downstream when a TIM (Trail Trace Identifier Mismatch) defect is declared. An administrator enables this so a detected trace mismatch is propagated as a clear, recognizable alarm condition to downstream equipment instead of silently passing through mismatched trace data. For example, enabling this on OTU2e means that once the receive trace stops matching what was expected, downstream nodes see AIS and raise their own alarms rather than continuing to process a signal from an unverified source.
