An administrator uses it to see at a glance which end-to-end service is riding on this facility without cross-referencing a separate service-inventory database. For example, if a customer circuit is provisioned across this OTU2e facility, this field would show a string like 'CustomerX-Ckt1042', tying the SNMP-visible facility back to the service record.
