This CoriantTypesTimMode value (default NONE) selects how an OTU2 (10.7 Gb/s optical transport unit) line trunk evaluates the Trail Trace Identifier Mismatch (TIM) defect, for example comparing only the SAPI, only the DAPI, or the full trace string against the expected values. An administrator changes this to control how strictly the node polices trail trace mismatches, trading sensitivity to real misconnections against tolerance of partially-provisioned trace strings from older far-end equipment. For instance, restricting OTU2 to a SAPI-only comparison means it raises a TIM defect only when the received SAPI disagrees with the expected SAPI, ignoring differences elsewhere in the trace.
