This CoriantTypesEnableSwitch (default disabled) controls whether an OTU2 (10.7 Gb/s optical transport unit) line trunk automatically inserts an AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) downstream when a TIM (Trail Trace Identifier Mismatch) defect is declared. An administrator enables this so a detected trace mismatch is propagated as a clear, recognizable alarm condition to downstream equipment instead of silently passing through mismatched trace data. For example, enabling this on OTU2 means that once the receive trace stops matching what was expected, downstream nodes see AIS and raise their own alarms rather than continuing to process a signal from an unverified source.
