What is otdrLaserStatus?
This read-only enumerated value reports whether the OTDR's own test laser is notAvailable, enabled, or disabled, independent of the data-carrying transmit laser on the port. Operators need to confirm the OTDR laser is enabled before a fiber sweep can produce a valid trace, and disabling it afterward matters for laser-safety during fiber handling. For example, before dispatching a technician to test a suspect span, a NOC operator would check that otdrLaserStatus reads 'enabled' rather than 'disabled', otherwise the measurement will fail.
