What is ochOsModulationFormat?
This read-only INTEGER reports the modulation format currently in use on the coherent optical channel (och-os) on the line side of a pluggable transceiver, such as DP-QPSK, DP-16QAM, DP-8QAM, or NRZ. An administrator checks this to confirm the coherent transceiver has come up in the modulation scheme appropriate for the required reach and capacity, since higher-order formats carry more bits per symbol but tolerate less noise over long spans. For example, seeing DP-QPSK reported on och-os rather than DP-16QAM would explain why the link is running at a lower line rate but achieving longer optical reach.
