What is ethernetAutoNegotiation?
This setting controls whether Ethernet auto-negotiation is enabled on a port, defaulting to disabled. An operator enables this when connecting to equipment that also supports auto-negotiation so both ends agree automatically on speed and duplex, and disables it to force a specific, manually configured rate when connecting to equipment that doesn't negotiate reliably. Leaving auto-negotiation mismatched between two ends of a link is a classic cause of duplex mismatch errors an admin would troubleshoot by checking this setting.
