Access: read-only

Description: the statistics counting for output undersize packets

UNITS:packets

What is eth10gStatisticsEntryOutUndersizePackets?

This OID counts how many outbound packets transmitted from this 10 Gbps Ethernet (10GbE) interface were smaller than the minimum valid Ethernet frame size. Seeing this counter increase on the egress side points an admin toward a local frame-generation problem on this device itself, rather than at an attached client sending malformed traffic inbound. For example, discovering outbound undersized packets on a 10GbE client port carrying a customer's Ethernet handoff after a firmware update would lead an admin to suspect the update introduced a framing bug in the transmit path.
