Description: the statistics counting for output 512 to 1023 octets packets

UNITS:packets

What is eth10gStatisticsEntryOutPackets512to1023octets?

This OID counts how many outbound packets between 512 to 1023 bytes were transmitted from this 10 Gbps Ethernet (10GbE) interface, one bucket of the interface's outbound packet-size distribution. Comparing this outbound size-bucket distribution against the inbound one lets an admin see whether this device is repackaging traffic into different sized frames, for example aggregating many small inbound packets into larger outbound ones. For example, if a 10GbE client port carrying a customer's Ethernet handoff's outbound counts concentrate in the 512 to 1023 bytes bucket while inbound traffic skews smaller, that pattern would suggest the device is aggregating or encapsulating client packets before sending them onward.
