UNITS:packets

What is eth10gStatisticsEntryOutPackets1024to1518octets?

This OID counts how many outbound packets between 1024 to 1518 bytes, up to the standard maximum Ethernet frame size were transmitted from this 10 Gbps Ethernet (10GbE) interface, one bucket of the interface's outbound packet-size distribution. Comparing this outbound size-bucket distribution against the inbound one lets an admin see whether this device is repackaging traffic into different sized frames, for example aggregating many small inbound packets into larger outbound ones. For example, if a 10GbE client port carrying a customer's Ethernet handoff's outbound counts concentrate in the 1024 to 1518 bytes, up to the standard maximum Ethernet frame size bucket while inbound traffic skews smaller, that pattern would suggest the device is aggregating or encapsulating client packets before sending them onward.
