Description: the statistics counting for output multicast packets

UNITS:packets

What is eth100gStatisticsEntryOutMulticastPackets?

This OID counts how many outbound multicast packets this 100 Gbps Ethernet (100GbE) interface has transmitted. Tracking the outbound multicast count lets an admin verify this interface is actually forwarding a provisioned multicast stream toward downstream receivers rather than silently dropping or failing to replicate it. For example, if a 100GbE line-side interface on a data-center-interconnect (DCI) link is supposed to forward a multicast feed to a downstream site but this counter stays flat, the admin would suspect a multicast forwarding or group-membership problem on this interface rather than upstream.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CORIANT-GROOVE-MIB::eth100gStatisticsEntryOutMulticastPackets

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.42229.1.2.4.1.35.1.1.27.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CORIANT-GROOVE-MIB::eth100gStatisticsEntryOutMulticastPackets.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> eth100gStatisticsEntryOutMulticastPackets.1
