Description: the statistics counting for output broadcast packets

UNITS:packets

What is eth100gStatisticsEntryOutBroadcastPackets?

This OID counts how many outbound broadcast packets this 100 Gbps Ethernet (100GbE) interface has transmitted. Watching the outbound broadcast count separately from the inbound one lets an admin tell whether this device itself is the source of excess broadcast traffic rather than merely relaying broadcasts it received. For example, if a 100GbE line-side interface on a data-center-interconnect (DCI) link shows a high outbound broadcast count with no corresponding inbound broadcast traffic, the local device generating that traffic, rather than an upstream neighbor, would be the first place to check.
