All MIBs › CORERO-MIB
Organization: Corero Network Security
Last Updated: 2017-06-16
Category: VPN and Security, Vendor: Corero
Description: Provides base management objects and OID registration for Corero network security products.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CORERO-MIB?
CORERO-MIB is the root enterprise MIB for Corero Network Security, a vendor of DDoS mitigation and network security appliances, and it primarily serves to register the Corero enterprise OID subtree and provide base management object definitions used by other, more specific Corero MIBs. As a top-level/base module it does not itself expose rich runtime telemetry; instead it establishes the object identifier hierarchy (e.g., under a Corero Management Server branch) that product-specific MIBs build upon for status, performance, and fault reporting. Because no concrete sample objects were provided, its practical monitoring role should be understood as structural/foundational rather than a source of hardware or software health data on its own — actual CPU, memory, interface, or attack-mitigation statistics would live in dependent Corero MIBs that import from this one. It has an inherent dependency relationship with other Corero product MIBs (e.g., DDoS appliance-specific modules) that extend its OID tree. It is typically deployed as a supporting/base MIB installed alongside Corero SmartWall or similar network security appliance MIBs in carrier and enterprise security monitoring environments. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CORERO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CORERO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Corero Network Security appliances
- Corero DDoS mitigation / SmartWall platforms
Monitoring Examples
Because no sample objects were supplied and this MIB is described as a base/registration module for the Corero Management Server, there are likely few or no directly pollable runtime data objects in this MIB itself; any real monitoring (e.g., attack counters, appliance health) would be found in dependent Corero product MIBs that reference this module's OID tree rather than in CORERO-MIB directly.
