What is interfacename?
interfacename is a DisplayString giving the OS-level name of a specific network interface entry, such as its device name. An admin correlating an SNMP-reported network error with the operating system's own interface listing uses this name to know exactly which OS-level interface is affected. For example, if inputerrors rises for a given entry, the admin reads interfacename to know it corresponds to, say, "hme0", the exact interface to check with OS-level network diagnostic tools.
