This read-create object selects which traffic direction, incoming, outgoing, or both, gets copied from the source port during port mirroring. An administrator sets this depending on what they're diagnosing, for example capturing only ingress traffic to investigate a suspected external attack. For example, an operator troubleshooting outbound congestion would set swPortMirrorDirection to egress(3) to capture only traffic leaving the source port.
