hcxTrapRcvrStatus

Module: COM21-HCXTOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): COM21-HCXTOP-MIB::hcxTrapRcvrStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1141.2.6.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: Setting this object to the value invalid(2) has the effect of invalidating the corresponding entry in the hcxTrapReceiverTable. That is, it effectively disassociates the address identified with the entry by removing the entry from the table. On a read the value of valid(1) should be returned if the entry contains a valid record, or invalid(2) should be returned if the entry contains an invalid record. Default is valid.

What is hcxTrapRcvrStatus?

This read-create enumeration manages a trap receiver table entry: setting it to invalid(2) removes the entry, effectively deregistering that receiver, while a read returns valid(1) for an active record or invalid(2) for a removed one. Admins use this to add or retire NMS servers that should receive SNMP traps from the ComController. For example, an admin sets this to invalid(2) to deregister a decommissioned NOC server so it stops receiving traps.
