Description: Indicates whether the topology change trap mechanism should be used, or a trap per STU acq, or both. Note that NMAPS is dependant upon the topology change mechanism, so should be disabled only when NMAPS is not in use. Also be aware that a high number of traps will occur if the per acq trap is selected. Default is topoChgTrapOnly.
What is hcxStuAcqTrapEnable?
This read-write enumeration controls whether the ComController sends a trap only on topology changes, only per ComPort acquisition, or both, defaulting to topology-change-only. NMAPS depends on the topology-change trap, so admins are warned to disable it only when NMAPS isn't in use, and to watch out because per-acquisition traps can flood the NMS. For example, during a mass re-acquisition event after a power outage, an admin who left this set to bothTopoAndAcqTrap could be swamped with trap messages and switches back to topoChgTrapOnly.
