Description: This attribute is used to activate a given revision of software images. The CC shall automatically reboot if this field is changed by the user and the version input is valid. Format is a.b.c.ddd.
What is hcxHcxImageControl?
This read-write 32-byte DisplayString, in a.b.c.ddd format, activates a specific software revision on the ComController, and the controller automatically reboots when this field is changed to a valid version. This is the actual cutover switch in the upgrade workflow, distinct from hcxHcxAlternateSwRel which only stages images without activating them. For example, after confirming the alternate image was successfully staged via hcxHcxAlternateSwRel, an operator would write that same version to hcxHcxImageControl during a maintenance window to trigger activation and the automatic reboot.
