This Gauge32 is a running count of non-SNAP-encoded IEEE 802.3 packets that the STU has filtered (blocked from passing) during the current 15-minute collection window. Non-SNAP 802.3 framing is used by older/legacy LAN gear, so a rising count here tells an admin that a piece of equipment behind this set-top unit is still sending that legacy frame type and having it dropped. For example, an old terminal or print server on the customer's LAN keeps emitting non-SNAP 802.3 frames, and this counter climbs through the still-open current window until it rolls over at the next 15-minute boundary.
