Description: Specifies whether IP source address filtering should be enabled for this ComPort. This filter is applicable to 100BT, and OC3 cards. It is not applicable to 10BT card. It filters traffic in the upstream direction. Default is false. This filter can also be enabled for an entire VLAN via the MIB attribute hcxVlanIpSrcFiltEnbl.
What is hcxStuIpSrcFiltEnable?
This read-write true/false object enables IP source-address filtering for upstream traffic on this ComPort, applicable to 100BT and OC3 cards but not 10BT, defaulting to false, per the description, and can also be enabled per-VLAN. An admin enables this to enforce that a subscriber's device can only send traffic from its allowed source IP address(es) configured in the source-IP table. For example, an admin enables hcxStuIpSrcFiltEnable on a business customer's 100BT ComPort to prevent source-address spoofing from that connection.
