What is hcxEtherSerialNumber?
This read-only 16-character DisplayString reports the serial number of the Ethernet card, returning an empty string if no card is inserted in the slot. It gives an administrator a unique hardware identifier for asset tracking, warranty claims, or RMA processing. For example, when reporting a defective Ethernet card to the vendor, this serial number is what the operator would cite to identify the exact unit.
