Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: this attribute describes the fault state of the PCMCIA disk.

What is hcxDiskFaultState?

This read-only enumerated value reports the fault condition of the Common Controller's PCMCIA disk, as noFault, notInstalled, notMounted, or failed. It tells an administrator whether removable storage used by the controller is healthy without physically inspecting the card. For example, a technician troubleshooting a configuration-save failure would check this attribute and, finding it reports failed, know to replace the PCMCIA card rather than keep retrying the backup.
