Description: Percentage of Broadcast Bytes (Port 1 and 2 - % is in relation to the total number Bytes) i.e., Percentage of the total byte count that are bytes associated with broadcast frames. Divide this objects value by 1000 to get the real floating point percentage value, e.g. 132 = 0.132 % wire speed. A value of 4294967294 indicates unknown.
What is ssbcBytesPercent?
This read-only Gauge32 reports the percentage of total bytes that were broadcast bytes on Port 1 and Port 2 combined during this 15-second short-term sample; the raw value must be divided by 1000 to get the real percentage, so a reading of 132 means 0.132%, with 4294967294 meaning unknown. An admin watches this ratio because a rising share of broadcast bytes on Port 1 and Port 2 combined can indicate broadcast storms or chatty legacy protocols eating into usable bandwidth. For example, a raw value of 15000, which is 15% after dividing by 1000, on Port 1 and Port 2 combined during this 15-second short-term sample would be unusually high and worth investigating for a broadcast storm.
