Description: Number of CRC/Alignment Errors on Port 1. CRC errors are frames which have been damaged. The Cyclic Redundancy Checksum used to confirm the validity of the frames contents shows that the frame is not valid.
Alignment Errors are frames which are misaligned, a frame which does not end on an 8-bit boundary is considered an Alignment Error. A value of 4294967294 indicates unknown.
What is slp1Crc?
This read-only Counter32 counts CRC and alignment errors, damaged frames or frames not ending on an 8-bit boundary, recorded on Port 1 during this 15-minute long-term sample, with 4294967294 meaning unknown. An admin uses a rising Crc count on Port 1 as a strong indicator of a physical-layer problem, such as a bad cable or connector or electrical interference, rather than a congestion issue. For example, Crc errors appearing on Port 1 only during a specific time of day might correlate with nearby electrical equipment cycling on, pointing to EMI rather than a hardware fault.
