This read-only Counter32 counts late collisions, i.e. collisions occurring after the first 12 bytes of a frame have already been sent, attributed to this row's MAC address (MacIndex) in the mse Ethernet-error history table. A late collision almost always indicates a duplex mismatch or an oversized cable run, so tracking it per host in this matrix helps an admin pin the mismatch to one end of a specific link. If mseLateCollisions appears only on the row for a newly connected workstation, an admin would check that machine's duplex setting against the switch port before suspecting the whole segment.
