ipldErrorFrames

Module: CODIMA-EXPRESS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CODIMA-EXPRESS-MIB::ipldErrorFrames

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.226.3.2.1.1.6.1.2.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge32

Access: read-only

Description: Percentage in relation to total number of Frames i.e., Percentage of the total frame count that have hardware or software errors. Divide this objects value by 1000 to get the real floating point percentage value, e.g. 132 = 0.132 % wire speed. A value of 4294967294 indicates unknown.

What is ipldErrorFrames?

ErrorFrames is a read-only Gauge32 giving the percentage of this IP-to-IP conversation's total frame count that had hardware or software errors, again stored as the real percentage times 1000 per the MIB's scaling rule. Expressing errors as a percentage of traffic, rather than a raw error count, lets an admin judge severity correctly even as overall volume for the IP-to-IP conversation rises and falls. A raw ErrorFrames value of 5000 for the pair 10.4.12.30/198.51.100.7 works out to 5% of frames erroring, which is a meaningfully worse condition than the same raw error count would be on a IP-to-IP conversation carrying ten times the traffic.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.226.3.2.1.1.6.1.2.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CODIMA-EXPRESS-MIB::ipldErrorFrames

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.226.3.2.1.1.6.1.2.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CODIMA-EXPRESS-MIB::ipldErrorFrames.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ipldErrorFrames.1
