Description: The number of messages received from a physical layer that has an included IP header that indicates the message size is larger than the actual size of the message.

What is cntllc1InBadIpSizes?

This counter tracks incoming physical-layer frames whose embedded IP header claims a payload size larger than the message actually received. A rising count points to malformed or truncated frames arriving at the data link layer, which can mean a corrupt link, a fragmentation problem, or a misbehaving peer device. For example, an admin seeing this counter climb on a leased-line channel would suspect the far-end device is generating malformed IP-over-LLC frames and check that peer's configuration.
