This counter records the total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be transmitted to a unicast address, including any that were discarded or never actually sent. An administrator notes that this counts transmission attempts, not just successes, so it must be read alongside cntdlOutErrors and cntdlOutDiscards to know how many actually made it onto the wire. For example, if this counter is much higher than what's confirmed delivered elsewhere, the admin knows a significant share of attempted unicast transmissions on this link failed or were dropped.
