This value reports the number of seconds remaining until the agent's next internal interface poll, which is what triggers link-up and link-down trap generation. An administrator can use it to predict exactly when the next interface status check, and any resulting traps, will occur. For example, if an admin just physically reconnected a cable and wants to know when the resulting link-up trap will fire, this countdown tells them how long to wait.
