cntDot3Requests

Module: CNTAU-MIB

OID (symbolic): CNTAU-MIB::cntDot3Requests

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.1.11.2.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of requests received by the agent for 802.3 objects in the experimental or transmission subtree.

What is cntDot3Requests?

This counter records how many SNMP requests the agent has received for 802.3 (Ethernet) objects in the experimental or transmission subtree. An administrator uses this to measure how much polling load is specifically targeting Ethernet statistics on this agent. For example, if this counter grows much faster than cntMib2Requests, the admin can infer the monitoring system is relying heavily on the CNT-specific 802.3 objects rather than the standard MIB-2 Ethernet counters.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.1.11.2.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CNTAU-MIB::cntDot3Requests

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.1.11.2.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CNTAU-MIB::cntDot3Requests.1
