swIfSpeedAdminMode

Module: CISCOSB-rlInterfaces

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-rlInterfaces::swIfSpeedAdminMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.43.1.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable specifies the required speed of this interface in bits per second. This specification will take effect only if swIfSpeedDuplexAutoNegotiation is disabled. A value of 10 is returned for 10G. A value of 0 is returned if the value of the variable hasn't been set.

What is swIfSpeedAdminMode?

This read-write INTEGER sets the administratively required speed (in bits per second, with a value of 10 meaning 10G per the description) for this interface, taking effect only when auto-negotiation is disabled. Admins use it to force a specific link speed when auto-negotiation with a peer device is unreliable or when the network policy mandates a fixed speed. For example, forcing this to a specific value when connecting to older equipment prevents auto-negotiation mismatches that could otherwise leave the link at an unexpectedly low speed.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-rlInterfaces::swIfSpeedAdminMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.43.1.1.15.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-rlInterfaces::swIfSpeedAdminMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.43.1.1.15.1 i <value>
