What is swIfOperMdix?

This read-only enumerated INTEGER (cross/normal/unknown) reports the actual MDI/MDI-X crossover mode currently in effect on a port, with unknown applying when the port's operative status isn't present or is down, per the description. Admins check this to confirm the port genuinely negotiated or applied the intended crossover mode, useful when a link fails to come up despite correct-looking cabling. For example, if swIfAdminMdix was set to auto but this field shows unknown, the admin would know the port is currently down and hasn't been able to determine its MDIX state.
