rlSecSdRuleChannel

Module: CISCOSB-SECSD-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-SECSD-MIB::rlSecSdRuleChannel

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.209.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RlSecSdChannelType

Access: read-write

Description: Contains the Rule management channel type as described in RlSecSdChannelType. secure-xml-snmp and insecure-xml-snmp management channels have no include-encrypted capability thus their rlSecSdRulePermitRead and rlSecSdRuleRead can have only RlSecSdAccessType values of exclude or include-decrypted.

What is rlSecSdRuleChannel?

This read-write field identifies which management channel, such as secure or insecure XML-over-SNMP, a Security Sensitive Data rule covers, with the description noting those two XML-SNMP channels can never be granted include-encrypted access. Admins care because different management channels warrant different levels of sensitive-data exposure. For example, an admin creating a rule for the insecure-xml-snmp channel is restricted to exclude or include-decrypted read levels only, closing off full encrypted passthrough on that less-secure channel.
