rlProtectedPortsGlobalEnable
Module: CISCOSB-ProtectedPorts-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-ProtectedPorts-MIB::rlProtectedPortsGlobalEnable
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.132.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: true - set all system fast ethernet ports to protected state false - set all system fast ethernet ports to not protected state
What is rlProtectedPortsGlobalEnable?
This read-write TruthValue is a bulk-configuration switch: setting it true puts every fast-Ethernet port on the system into protected mode at once, and false reverts every one of them to not-protected. An admin deploying a switch in a scenario where all access ports should default to isolated, like a public-facing wiring closet, can use this single object instead of configuring rlProtectedPortType port-by-port. For example, when provisioning a new switch for a shared office where tenant devices must never talk to each other directly, the admin sets this object to true once to protect every fast-Ethernet port in a single operation.
