An administrator tunes this delay to give legitimate 802.1X-capable clients enough time to complete authentication before being shunted to the restricted guest network. For example, setting this OID too low might cause a slow-booting laptop's supplicant to be placed in the guest VLAN before it even gets a chance to authenticate.
