cvCommonDcCallHistoryCoderTypeRate

Module: CISCO-VOICE-COMMON-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-COMMON-DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::cvCommonDcCallHistoryCoderTypeRate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.55.1.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CvcCoderTypeRate

Access: read-only

Description: The negotiated coder rate. It specifies the transmit rate of voice/fax compression to its associated call leg for the call. This rate is different from the configuration rate because of rate negotiation during the call.

What is cvCommonDcCallHistoryCoderTypeRate?

This is a read-only value recorded in the call history table showing the coder rate that was actually negotiated and used for a completed call's voice/fax compression, which can differ from the configured rate because of in-call negotiation. An admin reviews this after the fact to understand what codec was really used on a specific past call, useful when investigating quality complaints tied to codec choice. For example, if a completed call sounded poor, checking this history field might reveal a lower-quality codec was negotiated instead of the higher-quality one configured on the peer.
