cvapSvcAggTrafficClipping

Module: CISCO-VOICE-AALX-PROFILE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-AALX-PROFILE-MIB::cvapSvcAggTrafficClipping

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.323.1.3.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object defines the aggregate traffic clipping policy. This object specifies if the aggregate traffic clipping policy is applicable to all bearer traffic generated in the media gateway.

The applicable options are:

'true' - aggregate traffic clipping is enabled, local gateway traffic management performs aggregate traffic clipping. 'false' - aggregate traffic clipping is disabled, local gateway traffic management does not perform aggregate traffic clipping.

This is applicable to only AAL2 SVC voice bearer traffic.

When aggregate traffic clipping is enabled, local gateway can discard cells which are exceeding local gateway aggregate SVC bandwidth.

What is cvapSvcAggTrafficClipping?

This read-write TruthValue enables or disables aggregate traffic clipping policy across all bearer traffic generated by the media gateway, with true enabling local traffic management to clip aggregate traffic and false disabling that clipping. An administrator turns this on to cap total bearer bandwidth usage across all voice SVCs on the gateway, protecting shared network resources from oversubscription. For example, enabling this with 'true' would prevent aggregate voice traffic from exceeding a managed threshold even as individual calls come and go.
